The first, is a book about the philosophy of marketing, about connecting with your customers and marketing via exceptional service and engagement with content creation. There are some absolute gems of advice from some really sharp minds that can help anybody at any stage of their business.
The second is a book about the entrepreneurial spirit, how to capture it, and what to do once you?ve caught it. It will tell you about the long nights and the hard work, but it will also tell you about the wonderful satisfaction that comes from doing what you love and calling your own shots.
The third is a how-to guide for internet marketing. How to find and use influence, how to organize your advertising and marketing campaigns, and some great examples of what has worked for some luminaries in the field.
Each virtual book alone would have been worth the price of admission. Instead, you get a complete package for changing your view on marketing and customer service online. You?ve seen the work of those interviewed before, you?ve probably even been swayed by their pitches before. Now you can learn about the thinking and philosophy behind these brilliant entrepreneurs and marketers.
Stop reading this right now and buy the book. You won?t regret it.

2. The ability to create innovative alternatives. hosting What many people would want to call business negotiation is frequently only 1 sizing negotiating about cost. Our studies suggest that 50% of arbitrators find it difficult to create or discover alternatives beyond this dimensions. The ability to consider wonderfully isn?t a thing that arrives naturally to all of us but fortunately there are several methods available to aid us in generating innovative alternatives like the Disney Creativity Style or Signifiant Bono?s Six to eight Contemplating Less difficult. hosting seo 3. Dealing with other individuals with dignity & regard all the time ? taking up the ?high meaningful ground?.
A frequent belief is the fact that for being a difficult negotiator you have to certainly be a rude or obnoxious negotiator. The two Mahatma Gandhi & Nelson Mandela are glowing types of the way to occupy the meaningful substantial floor. One particular can often be difficult around the troubles even though treating individuals associated with dignity all the time.
The principle of reciprocity claims we will go back to other individuals are behaviour exhibited toward us. It really is folly to think we can operate roughshod over other without turning to methods to claim back their dignity. Keep in mind that frequently sufferers turn out to be aggressors.

A Denver-based communications firm is giving away $75,000 worth of creative services to one nonprofit organization.
Pure Brand Communications is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations across the country who need branding, marketing and other creative services. For one year, the company will treat the nonprofit agency like any other client.
The company, which is about eight years old, had been doing pro bono work for nonprofit organizations, but it was small bits of work. Instead, the company?s partners wanted to work on a single project that would have more impact, said Larry Holdren, Pure Brand partner.
?We really wanted a project where nearly everyone in our company of 25 people could be involved in some way, so that there is a real sense of ownership,? he said.
Last year, the company created ?Pure Good Works? and awarded one nonprofit agency one year of their creative services.
?We have a long history of supporting kid-related causes,? Holdren said. ?It?s a big part of who we are as an organization.?
The deadline is April 13. Holdren expects to receive dozens of applications and the recipient is expected to be announced in May.
?Times are tough right now for nonprofits,? Holdren said. ?We will have to say no to a a lot of really fantastic organizations. There are so many organizations that need help.?
Last year, Pure Brand gave its grant to ?Rachel?s Challenge,? a K-12 school assembly and eduction program inspired by Rachel Scott, the first student killed in the 1999 Columbine High School shootings. Rachel?s Challenge is a program that inspires a chain reaction of good deeds and kindness. Pure Brand created a brand strategy and messaging platform, a tactical plan, a promotional video and a social media strategy for the organization.
Holdren said all nonprofits, not just those with a kid-focus, are eligible to apply for the grant.

My suggestion would be for each person to explain impressions, reactions and emotions that their characters would have to the others. And then, in PM, we can discuss histories or more in-depth relationships between specific characters... or whatever.

'American Idol' alum talks to Entertainment Weekly about working with the late legend on their upcoming movie 'Sparkle.' By Kara Warner
Whitney Houston Photo: 20th Century Fox/Getty Images
Many people will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news of Whitney Houston's untimely death in February. And while everyone's experience was memorable in some way, the story of Houston's "Sparkle" co-star Jordin Sparks hearing the news is especially poignant.
The season-six "American Idol" winner was in a L.A. hotel room getting ready to meet Houston at the Beverly Hilton and attend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy bash when her publicist knocked on her door.
"She said, 'Whitney's gone,' " Sparks told Entertainment Weekly. "I said, 'What do you mean? She's not going to the party?' She said, 'No, she passed.' It was like a movie when you see somebody and they're just shocked and can't move. I literally couldn't say anything. I couldn't feel anything. It was a complete shock. I was just holed up in my hotel room for a few days after that.
"I didn't know her for very long, but it was an intense two months: 12 hours every day spending time with somebody," Sparks recalled. "It was amazing to walk into work and then Whitney is sitting in her chair blasting gospel music and singing. I'm thinking to myself, 'People would give their right arm to just hear some of this. And it's happening every day.' She was really, really great."
"Sparkle" is a remake of the 1976 Irene Cara film about three talented young musicians who struggle with addiction. The new version features the 2007 "American Idol" winner as the titular character Sparkle and Houston, who also served as executive producer after acquiring the rights to the film more than a decade ago, as her mother, Emma.
"It was definitely her baby," Sparks said of Houston's attachment to the project. "You could see the pride on her face when we wrapped. She was so excited that this was finally happening. Even before she passed I wanted to be able to represent this movie in a way that would honor her and respect her, because she worked so hard on it. With her passing, it's definitely been a lot more pressure. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure there will be interviews where it will hit me and I might get emotional, and there's going to be other interviews where I reminisce about how happy and excited she was. I'm really proud of the film. I can't wait for people to see it."

Two new studies into the "plumbing systems" that lie under volcanoes could bring scientists closer to predicting large eruptions.
International teams of researchers, led by the University of Leeds, studied the location and behaviour of magma chambers on the Earth's mid-ocean ridge system - a vast chain of volcanoes along which the Earth forms new crust.
They worked in Afar (Ethiopia) and Iceland - the only places where mid-ocean ridges appear above sea level. Volcanic ridges (or "spreading centres") occur when tectonic plates "rift" or pull apart. Magma (hot molten rock) injects itself into weaknesses in the brittle upper crust, erupting as lava and forming new crust upon cooling.
Magma chambers work like plumbing systems, channelling pressurised magma through networks of underground "pipes".
The studies, published in Nature Geoscience, reveal new information about where magma is stored and how it moves through the geological plumbing network. Finding out where magma chambers lie and how they behave can help identify early warning signs of impending eruptions.
Scientists used images taken by the European Space Agency satellite Envisat to measure how the ground moved before, during and after eruptions. Using this data, they built and tested computer models to find out how rifting occurs.
Data in one study showed magma chambers that fed an eruption in November 2008 in the Afar rift of Northern Ethiopia were only about 1 km below the ground. The standard model had predicted a depth of more than 3 km.
It is highly unusual for magma chambers to lie in shallow depths on slow spreading centres such as the Afar rift, where tectonic plates pull apart at about the same speed as human fingernails grow.
Dr Carolina Pagli from the University of Leeds' School of Earth and Environment, who led the study, says: "It was a complete surprise to see that a magma chamber could exist so close to the Earth's surface in an area where the tectonic plates move apart so slowly. The results have changed the way we think about volcanoes."
Dr Pagli also noticed that the ground started "uplifting" (elevating) four months before the eruption, due to new magma increasing pressure in one of the underground chambers. Understanding these precursory signals is fundamental to predicting eruptions.
A wider study of eruptions in Afar and Iceland, two vastly different environments, found remarkable similarities. Many events occurred within a short space of time. Researchers identified multiple magma chambers positioned horizontally and vertically, allowing magma to shoot in several directions. Moving magma triggered earthquakes, and separate magma chambers fed single eruptions.
The 2008 eruption is part of an unusual period of recent volcanic unrest in Ethiopia, and is enabling scientists to learn more about volcanoes at spreading centres. Most spreading centres are under 2 km of water at the bottom of the ocean, making detailed observations extremely challenging. The new knowledge derived from Ethiopian volcanoes will help scientists understand volcanoes in Iceland, where eruptions can have a bigger impact on the UK.
Dr Tim Wright from the School of Earth and Environment, who leads the international Afar Rift Consortium, said: "The dramatic events we have been witnessing in Afar in the past six years are transforming our understanding of how the crust grows when tectonic plates pull apart. Our work in one of the hottest place on Earth is having a direct impact on our understanding of eruptions from the frozen volcanoes of Iceland."

An all-Island music and family fun extravaganza, headlined by chart-topping, home-grown talent Level 42, is to be staged by the Island?s favourite radio station this summer (Monday 4 June, 2012).
The Isle of Wight Radio organised event will ensure families celebrate the Queen?s Diamond Jubilee in style ? with all things Isle of Wight, from food to music and entertainment.
The 12-hour festivities will be set against the magnificent backdrop of the iconic Northwood House, and will be the first time in several decades that Northwood Park has been used for a large outside event of this kind.
The music bill promises a plethora of local bands from a hotbed of Island talent, including names such as The Operators and Goodbye Stereo.
Pride of the Island Level 42, in their first headline slot at an Isle of Wight event since the early 1990s, will close the festivities in true feelgood fashion. It?s a double whammy for the band?s Frontman Mark King, who not only hails from our fair isle, but is also the patron of Beaulieu House, a residential respite unit for children with severe learning difficulties. The whole event will therefore be in support of the Newport-based service.
Mark King from Level 42 said:
?Wow! I?m so excited to be bringing the band back home for what will be a fantastic day for everyone. We?ll have the best of the Island?s music talent on show throughout the day, and in the most beautiful setting at Northwood House in Cowes.
?This will be the best Jubilee celebration on the Island, and knowing that the proceeds will be going to Beaulieu House Respite Care Centre is the icing on the Jubilee cake!,? he added.
As well as celebrating the Island?s musical abilities, this true family day out will highlight the best on offer from the larder of our garden isle. Among the local producers attending is Ventnor Fisheries, which will be serving up the most quintessential of British of suppers, along with Calborne Classics who will be offering the taste of summer. Add to the mix the Englishness of coconut shies, bouncy castles and street entertainment, and the event is the perfect way to wrap up this most royal of bank holiday weekends. And with further acts and bands still to be announced, the event is shaping up to be one that?s truly fit for a Queen.
Goal setting activities set the stage for success. Many folks have the belief that thinking about what they would like to accomplish constitutes the full extent of goal setting. However, while it is certainly an important part of setting goals, it is far from enough, especially if you want to actually realize your dreams.
There is a definite skill involved when setting goals and before you even begin, you will need to sort out your priorities and organize your thoughts. One reason some folks fail to realize their goals is they set them improperly. Every time you set a target for yourself, you should follow certain goal setting activities.
When setting and writing goal statements, they should be correctly worded and formed. The best guideline for wording goal statements is the time tested SMART goal setting technique.
SMART?stands for?Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and?Time-bound. If your goal statement meets each of these criteria, you have established a good foundation.
The next step involves dividing your goal setting activities into manageable steps. For instance, if you want to lose fifty pounds, you can get discouraged very quickly. Fifty pounds is a lot of weight, and although it is attainable for many, it can cause others to quit after a few weeks because the scale might tell you that you have only lost five pounds in that time. Break it down into sub-goals.
Realistic Goal Setting Activities
Fifty pounds over twelve months is certainly attainable and setting small goals on the way will help keep you on track. Set a goal to lose five pounds the first month, three pounds the next month, and so on. By reaching these milestones, you give yourself a psychological edge and keep your momentum going until you reach your final destination.
Along the same lines, you have to keep motivated in order to reach your goals. In our fifty pounds example, when you reach your first milestone of losing five pounds, it will motivate you to keep going. It will send you the message that you are capable of reaching that goal, and if you stick to it, nothing will stop you.
Reward yourself when you reach your sub-goals. Keep dangling that proverbial carrot in front of you throughout the whole journey, and you will be at your destination goal before you know it!

So you go out to a job interview, and everything went well, but when you get home the hiring manager has sent you a friend request on Facebook and LinkedIn. What should you do?
Some people have gotten their jobs through Twitter, but this seems a little creepy. Should you accept his friend request? What if you get hired and this is normal for everyone who works there? What should you do?
I know a number of people who owe their current jobs to interactions with companies or individuals on Twitter or LinkedIn. Social media can be a powerful tool to help people get exposure and connect with people ? people with jobs to offer ? that they would never have spoken to directly otherwise. Reaching out to employers via Twitter and LinkedIn gives you a way to get your name in front of someone and out of the stack of resumes they have to sift through. How closely you connect to potential employers on those networks however, has more to do with the network in question and how comfortable you are with it than anything else.
At the same time, with potential employers?asking candidates for their Facebook passwords, you have reason to be cautious. Mind you, that practice is?possibly illegal, definitely against Facebook's terms-of-service, and?Facebook is threatening legal action?against anyone who does it. It's possible they just want to see what you have behind the veil of your privacy settings, or maybe they really want to get to know the real you before extending an offer, to see if you fit in with the corporate culture. You're also right to be worried about what might happen if you're hired there ? maybe it's normal for everyone in that office to be Facebook friends, or to all follow the company's Twitter account. Let's take a look at these possibilities one at a time, then you can decide whether you want to click accept, or ignore.
The post-interview friend request If the potential employer wants to be a Facebook friend, your situation is a rough one. My first instinct is to say, unless the interview went so well that your interviewer wants to be your friend personally, that they want to see your Facebook profile, but don't want to directly ask for your password. If the interviewer is especially malicious, he may be asking now to give you the impression that your future with that company may hang in the balance. You have every right ? and frankly, should ? say no here, and direct the interviewer instead to your LinkedIn profile. You mentioned they wanted to connect with you there ? respond by letting them know that your Facebook profile is for friends and personal acquaintances, and LinkedIn is for professional networking.?
If they don't care for that response, or claim (like one company I know) that it's company policy for everyone to be Facebook friends, then you have a choice to make. You can dangle it back in front of them and say you'd be willing to do that when or if you're hired, or you can walk away. Ultimately it depends on how sensitive you are to what your Facebook friends see, and how much you personally value that privacy. If we can offer a tip that's outside the principle of the matter, consider?setting up friends lists or groups?so?you have better control over who sees what. Then you can dump this person?and any other future coworkers?into a select group that sees little to nothing. The trouble is that you'll have to go back over past posts, photos, updates, and everything else to make sure their permissions are changed to exclude this new group. You'll have to decide whether that's more hassle than it's worth.
The post-hire friend request The next ? and more common ? scenario you might encounter happens after you're on the job and you start getting friend requests from co-workers, your boss or even HR. At one company I worked for, our marketing department sent out an email to the whole organization to "let us know" that the company now had a Twitter account, and that we were "highly encouraged" to follow it, and to like their Facebook page while we were at it. This same company would regularly check on its employees to see if they were updating their LinkedIn accounts or publicly posting their resumes and reported those employees to their managers, warning that they may be looking for new jobs.
The big difference here is, of course, if you're good friends with your co-workers, you may have no trouble friending or following them on Facebook or Twitter. However, if your boss or HR suddenly sends you a friend request and you're not comfortable with it, there's no reason you should accept it unless you think it really is a friendly request and you're about to rebuff them for personal reasons. If that's the case, they should understand that you try to keep your work life and your personal life a little separate, but either way the situation calls for a little tact. Here are some tips:
Direct managers and HR to LinkedIn whenever possible. If your boss wants to connect with you professionally and does so by sending you a Facebook request, let them know your professional connections are at LinkedIn and give them your profile URL. Assuming, of course, you have a LinkedIn profile.
Are your co-workers really friends or just snooping? It's unlikely, but it is possible that your co-workers are just adding you in order to see what you're up to, especially in off hours. Be careful of co-workers and managers who use Facebook during the day to see whether?you?are using it during the day, when you should be working. If you're really friends with your co-workers, go ahead and add them. If not, it might be time to shunt them to LinkedIn.
Lock down your Facebook account. Using your Facebook profile to snag a job by?sprucing it up, adding a new photo, and updating your education and interests?is a great idea, but be ready to back it up if a company tries to connect with you. Lock down your past posts so only your real friends can see them?especially any times you were complaining about your old job. Then?add them to a list?where they only see things you're comfortable making public.
Use Facebook to your advantage. Create a friends list for professional contacts, and feed it accomplishments, certifications or other similar news. Even better, create a Facebook page for your "personal brand," which can serve as a Facebook-based resume. Then encourage the company or hiring manager to like?your?page to see your portfolio, accomplishments, and what you're working on professionally.
Clean Up Your Twitter account. The beauty ? and trouble ? with Twitter is that everything's either all public, or all hidden. I know more people who have found new jobs through Twitter than Facebook or even LinkedIn, but the only things you can do is go back in time and delete anything you think would be worrysome or be on your best behavior when you tweet. You have the option to take your account private, but then no one can see anything, and you're cut off from potential friends?and?employers ? but you will have your privacy.
Throw caution to the wind. There's always the option to just not care. You could just accept friend requests and Twitter followers and not bother to moderate yourself at all. There's some logic to the notion that any company that won't accept you for who you are, both in public and to your friends on Facebook or Twitter as well as LinkedIn, doesn't deserve you. It's idealistic, and most of us know there's a difference between our professional and personal lives (eg, check your political, religious and potentially disruptive views at the door), but speaking as someone who knows what it's like to work at a company where you have to keep even your benign interests and hobbies secret, it can be soul draining to have to be a different person at work than you are when you get home.?This XKCD comic sums it up pretty well.
The post-hire friend requests are harder to deal with, for obvious reasons, and you should take any direction you're most comfortable. Ultimately though, make sure you do what's comfortable, not what you think is expected. You'll have to deal with the consequences, and sometimes removing someone causes more hassle than not accepting their request in the first place.
The post-employment or pre-interview friend request While far less common, friend requests from people you used to work with, or a company that's interested in, you are just as tricky. On the bright side, you're in the driver's seat in both cases, so you can decide whether you want to stay in touch with a colleague you used to work with on Facebook, or read their weekend activities on Twitter. You can research a company that wants to connect with you on LinkedIn or Facebook, and decide if you'd like to talk to them about what they have open.
Again, we'd advise caution with Facebook, just because it's such a tome of personal connections and information that you may not want public ? and make no mistake, friending a company or co-workers means that information is public, at least at the office ? but LinkedIn is always a good bet, as is Twitter, mostly because both are designed to be more public than private.
In the end, the network an employer wants to connect with you over makes much of the difference, as does your familiarity with that network's privacy tools. If you're already a master at custom friends lists at Facebook, and your status updates are set to post to a safe list by default, then you probably have no problem friending your boss. If not, or you don't want to tempt fate, it might just be better to apologize for any offense and suggest they head over to LinkedIn and connect with you there, instead.
While it's a little underhanded of your interviewer to dangle a potential job in front of you with a friend request attached, how you handle it ? even if you tell them Facebook is personal and LinkedIn is professional? may land you the gig. Good luck!

LONDON (AP) ? At last, Harry Potter's adventures are available electronically.
The seven novels about J.K. Rowling's boy wizard are for sale as e-books and audio books on the author's Pottermore website, the site's creators announced Tuesday.
The books are currently available in English, in U.S. and U.K. editions, priced at $7.99 or 4.99 British pounds for e-books and $29.99 or 17.99 pounds for audio versions.
The site says French, Italian, German and Spanish editions will follow in the coming weeks.
The books are available only through the website, which says they are compatible with major electronic e-readers, including Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader and Barnes & Noble's Nook, as well as with tablets, mobile phones and Google's Play digital store.
The Harry Potter novels have sold 450 million copies, but Rowling for years resisted making the books available in digital form,
She announced last year that Potter e-books would be sold through the Pottermore site, an interactive portal into Harry's magical world.
The full site, which combines elements of virtual encyclopedia, computer games, social network and online store, is set to open in early April.
Its launch, originally announced for October, was delayed after testing with a limited number of users showed changes were needed.
Rowling's final Potter novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," was published in 2007. The author announced last month that she is working on a novel for adults, whose title and release date have not been disclosed.
