OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) ? Bay area media say as many as 18 people are hurt after two Amtrak trains collided at the Amtrak station in Oakland.
The Oakland Tribune and KTVU-TV say the crash occurred around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
KTVU says up to 18 people were injured but there was no immediate word on how seriously.
Alton Smith, a passenger on one of the trains, told the station that it was "an awful jolt."
No other details were immediately available. A call to Amtrak by The Associated Press was not immediately returned.
