Admission: FREE!
The Canadian Music Centre British Columbia Region (CMC BC Region) and the Canadian League of Composers (CLC) are pleased to present the next installment of our Emerging Composers Information Series ? a workshop on navigating Canadian copyright laws with MusicBC?s Bob D?Eith. Learn about what resources are available, and find out more about what is happening in the future of copyright in Canada.
Bob has been involved in the music industry for twenty years in various capacities as an entertainment lawyer, recording artist (Rymes with Orange and Mythos), studio owner, label and music publisher (Adagio Music Inc.). He is also the executive director of Music BC Industry Association, BC?s provincial music industry association. Bob is on FACTOR?s National Advisory Board (past chairman) and is the JUNO rep for BC. Recently, Bob was the executive chair of the Host Committee for the Vancouver 2009 JUNO Awards.
As a lawyer, Bob has dealt with all kinds of transactions from major label and publishing deals, to film and television placements, to producer agreements, to manager agreements, to band agreements and just about any other matter involving the music industry.
We invite you to join us at the CMC BC Creative Hub for this engaging workshop on the ins and outs of Canadian copyright, and how it affects composers and performers. Everyone is welcome to attend!
