Well, I do believe in getting the proper nutrition and generally making wise food choices. I also believe that one of the purposes of life is the enjoyment of it.
If someone is exercising regularly and usually making wise food choices, one donut here or there is not going to derail their health or weight loss train. In fact, knowing that the occasional fun food will be availabie without guilt can help many stay on the straight-and-narrow.
The overall results of your lifestyle choices is based on the trend of those lifestyle choices.
Obviously, my donut, the only one this week, is not going to make a big impact on my life goals. I enjoyed it, and feel comfortable exercising and eating properly because I know that living the way I do from day-to-day allows me to have the small reward from time to time.
It also frees me up to move about comfortably in society. If I am at a restaurant that does not serve the healthiest of meals, I can eat something off the menu without guilt or apprehension. If I am a guest at someone's home, I can accept a piece of cake, or other "sinful" delicacy with equal ease of mind.
It is my overall lifestyle choices which allow me to enjoy the occasional donut, bowl of ice cream, or bottle of beer.
Isn't that what "living well" is about?
Have a great day!

P.S. It had chocolate icing, too!! How decadent is that?
