EVANSDALE, Iowa (AP) ? Authorities are draining a northeast Iowa lake in the search for two young cousins missing since Friday.
At least 30 FBI investigators have joined the search for 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins and her 10-year-old cousin, Lyric Cook-Morrissey. They were last reported seen Friday afternoon leaving their grandmother's house. Their bicycles and Elizabeth's purse were found later that day near a bike trail at the edge of Meyers Lake in the northeast Iowa city of Evansdale.
Officers paddled around the lake in kayaks on Tuesday morning while others walked the shoreline. One wearing gloves picked up an object and took it to a patrol car sitting nearby.
The lake is less than a mile from downtown Evansdale, where their grandmother was baby-sitting.
