13-15 year-old baseball: Onteora 10, Highland Falls 0
Dakota Oakley struck out six over five innings to lead Onteora to the losers' bracket win in the District 3 tournament at Cantine Field in Saugerties. Zack Chartrand had a single and two RBI with Mark Vianello and Gabe McKenna each adding a single and RBI for Onteora, which faces Orange County at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Saugerties.
Highland Falls is eliminated.
Orange County 6, Poughkeepsie 5
Orange County reliever Doug Campbell singled home the lead run and tossed the final two innings to earn the losers' bracket win at Cantine Field in Saugerties. Ed Kelly had a single and two RBI and Donovan Brophy had a single and scored twice for Orange County, which faces Onteora at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Saugerties.
Jim Reilly (two RBI), Morgan McDaniel (RBI) and Erik Merrill (RBI) each had singles for Poughkeepsie, which is eliminated.
Kingston and Saugerties meet in the winners' bracket final at 8 p.m. Thursday - that winner advances to the championship finals at noon Saturday.
